My Name Is Anna by Lizzy Barber
About The Book
Two women – desperate to unlock the truth.
How far will they go to lay the past to rest?
ANNA has been taught that virtue is the path to God. But on her eighteenth birthday she defies her Mamma’s rules and visits Florida’s biggest theme park.
She has never been allowed to go – so why, when she arrives, does everything seem so familiar? And is there a connection to the mysterious letter she receives on the same day?
ROSIE has grown up in the shadow of the missing sister she barely remembers, her family fractured by years of searching without leads. Now, on the fifteenth anniversary of her sister’s disappearance, the media circus resumes in full flow, and Rosie vows to uncover the truth.
But will she find the answer before it tears her family apart?
This is a sad story, with some difficult situations that lead this story to a missing young girl, breaking a family and giving hope to another… But the main question is, who is Anna?
When we start reading this story, we just want to make Anna and Rosie meet again, these two sisters were separated a long time ago and they don’t remember each other or their childhood. Their lives have been totally different to the one they should had… But on their veins it runs the same blood, making them brave enough not to stop asking questions to discover the truth, even if it will difficult to listen.
I didn’t like much Anna’s mother, but I don’t think we should like her, and in the end I pitied her, she didn’t had an easy life and in her own world she did a good thing, something God wanted… I can’t say that I liked her actions or that I support her, but I don’t think she is really able to discern the consequences of her acts.
On the other hand, I can understand that Rosie is tired of all the circus involved in her sister’s disappearing, people only wanted to talk to her for her missing sister, this had to be disappointing and hurtful, so she is now ready to discover the truth once and for all, even if it means having to break all her parents hope.
This is a psychological thriller book, but it’s more the characters that capture the reader than the mystery, because since the beginning you know she is alive, what you don’t know is why she is not with her real family.
I would recommend you to read this book, I read it in one sit, I could not stop reading!
You just have to want to know who is Anna…!
