About The Book
IT STARTS WITH ONE PATIENT
A woman is dying in an Italian hospital, coughing up blood, convulsing and barely conscious.
BEFORE IT SPREADS TO THE TOWN
Dr Alana Vaughn, an expert from NATO, confirms everyone’s worst fears: the woman has the highly infectious disease that swept through Europe eight hundred years ago. The Black Death.
AND TAKES THE CITY
The sickness is spreading so quickly that soon the outbreak becomes a global pandemic. Markets crash and governments fall as quickly as the citizens they govern.
THEN THE COUNTRY
As panic takes hold and the death toll climbs, the consequences become horrifically clear – Alana must discover a way to stop the disease or it will be the end of us all.
THEN THE WORLD – AND WE ALL FALL DOWN
This is the perfect book to read when there is now a real case of the bubonic plague in Mongolia, and I am not kidding!
I know this story is totally fiction, but living in a world where people are not using vaccines for the most dangerous illnesses, this “fiction” could not be so far from reality as we think. This is something I will never understand, how a parent can be willing to put this type of risk to their children or loved ones? If you have a reasonable answer, I can’t wait to listen you.
Let’s talk about this addictive story; who doesn’t love a good race to save the world story?
I’ve always loved the plots with illness included, trying to discover the vaccine and save the patients; this will be the case of the expert of the NATO Alana Vaughn and the WHO agency, Byron Menke. Both of them will have to search for the patient zero to discover where everything started, the problem is that the victim’s numbers is increasing and they don’t know where to start. Will they discover the truth before is too late?
While we will read the present story we will read how the plague was extended during the 1348 in Genova, how the people suffered the lost of their loved ones and tried to keep living seeing everyone around them suffering.
I loved every page of this book; the characters make the story real, something that could happen in the future and we all should fear.
Let’s be honest, this is a nail bitting story that will make you think the values of your life and your loved ones.
