About The Book

Renowned surgeon Michael Trenchard locks his office door and prepares for a relaxing evening. But what follows is a living nightmare when later he is discovered in a locked-in coma, the victim of an auto-erotic asphyxiation.
It is left to Doctor Kash Devan, Trenchard’s young protégé, to uncover the truth. And what he discovers is chilling . . .
In his ruthless pursuit of wealth and success, Trenchard has left a trail of wrecked lives, and angry people, behind him. Which of Trenchard’s victims hated him so much that they wanted to ruin not only his reputation, but his life as well?

My Thoughts

What a suspenseful read! It’s been a while since I had the chance to read and enjoy a medical thriller. I missed the controlled world of the hospital and the world behind the patients; the secrets and lies that will be the central of Control; ready?
This is a delicate and tough story, the main character is Doctor Kash Devan, he has just started working as a doctor when his mentor, Michael Trenchard, suffers an attack in a delicate situation. Michael Trenchard will be now a patient instead of the charming doctor that everyone seemed to love, but he is still alive inside his body and the suffering has just started for him. On the other hand, Kash will be the only doctor that would not believe that Trenchard had an accident, he will not stop asking questions till he discovers what has really happened and who did it, but the answers will be more surprising that you’ll ever expect, trust me on this.
There are so many subplots and half lies in this story that I really don’t want to say anything to spoil anyone the story, because if you expect to know the truth before the ending, let me say that it has a few twists that will leave any reader surprised!
The story is told between the two doctors, how Kash asks questions and tries to discover the truth and on the other hand Trenchard memories and thoughts while he is in bed and only able to listen to his surroundings. Kash thinks that everyone loved the charming doctor but the truth is much darker, he has so many secrets and he is not as perfect as everyone think he is, the list of possible “killers” is quite large to say the least. But I really enjoyed trying to discover who was the perpetrator before the ending, of course!
If you are searching for a good thriller but a human touch and a very surprising ending, this is your book! Because Control is what all the doctors and nurses need, now you’ll need Control too!
