About The Book

Their love story started with goodbye…
The brand-new novel from The Sunday Times bestselling author, Miranda Dickinson.
‘We’ll meet again at St Pancras station, a year from today. If we’re meant to be together, we’ll both be there. If we’re not, it was never meant to be . . .’
Phoebe and Sam meet by chance at St Pancras station. Heading in opposite directions, both seeking their own adventures, meeting the love of their lives wasn’t part of the plan. So they make a promise: to meet again in the same place in twelve months’ time if they still want to be together.
But is life ever as simple as that?

My Thoughts

What would you do if you met the love of your life the day you are leaving for the journey of your life? Leave everything or continue as everything was planned? This is the fate of Sam and Phoebe, they will meet at St. Pancras Station after a train strike, they only have a few hours to know each other but they totally fell in love with each other. But they decide to take a step of faith, continue with their planned year and then meet at the same place/hour in a years time; this way they will know if they are made for each other. Ready?
This is a really sweet book; it will make you go to an emotional trip, ups and downs, tears and smiles… because love and life is full of them, don’t you think?
I really enjoyed this story, it was a little strange in the beginning when Sam and Phoebe thought they were in love without knowing anything at all. But I suppose that’s a step of faith to take, falling in love with a total stranger, I can understand chemistry and a deep connection, but love at first sight is a little bit difficult to believe… But then, they will have a year with continuous contact, where maybe the chemistry and connection at first sight would have turn to something more. Because they plan to meet again, only if they think they are ready to love each other and start a relation together. Of course don’t expect to be everything so easy, it’s like life, with a lot of problems and difficult decisions to make, not everything is perfect, I am sure you are aware of it.
This is a really powerful story, compelling and human, sometimes I wanted to cry with the characters or laugh with them. It didn’t feel like a simple story, but a part of me was there, with Sam and Phoebe, sharing their feelings and emotions.
This is a book I will recommend to anyone, it’s a bitter sweet read, yes, but this is what makes the story so real and powerful, life is never easy why our characters would have it easy then? And just one advice when you start “The Day We Meet Again”, don’t forget your tissues! 😉
