About The Book
Amy’s life is close to perfect – two lovely daughters, a wonderful husband and she’s queen bee in her circle of soccer moms. She feels content, like she’s finally put some distance between herself and the terrible events of long ago.
The only fly in the ointment is Charlotte, a recent arrival to this affluent suburban community. The shameless way she dresses, the way the men look at her… it’s not right, she’s just not the kind of person they want around here.
Amy spearheads a drive to exclude Charlotte, to make it clear to her that she’s not welcome here.
Infuriatingly, Charlotte doesn’t seem to care… And when her daughter joins the soccer team there’s just no getting away from her.
But Amy knows from bitter experience the kind of trouble a woman like Charlotte can bring. And there is no way on earth that her girls are ever going to be exposed to anything like that. The solution is clear – Charlotte has to go. No matter what it takes.
My Thoughts
What would you do to keep your “perfect” life if you feel that it’s at risk?
Charlotte is new to the neighborhood, a single mother that only wants a change… The problem will be Amy, she will see her as a menace for her life and a risk to share her deepest secret. And then we’ll have Rachel, Amy’s best friend, who is ready to protect their friend…
This is a domestic thriller that will attract you since the first page, so many secrets hidden that keep you every chapter on the edge wanting to know how the story will progress.
The story could seem simple, a group of mothers that are scared of the new woman in the neighborhood, but let’s admit it, this is something that we all felt in one moment or other in our life. Someone who felt the threat by a newcomer, possibly without any “apparent” motive… but you never know how many secrets are hidden or the real motive of it. That’s what made this book so addictive, of course is fiction and I hope that the acts are not based in real life, but what if? I am a true believer that “Reality is worst than fiction”… What would happen if the one that felt threatened is ready to do ANYTHING to keep her perfect life?
That’s what Cathryn Grant has done with this “real life” story, putting you on a real situation and turned it dark and twisted, you’ll not only be an outside observer but part of the story, the good and the bad, because on everyone’s craziness there’s a soft part that everyone could understand.
So, you’ll only have to ask… I am The Good Mother… or the bad?
