About The Book

Bea and Dan, recently married, rent out their tiny flat to escape London for a few precious months. Driving through France they visit Bea’s dropout brother Alex at the hotel he runs in Burgundy. Disturbingly, they find him all alone and the ramshackle hotel deserted, apart from the nest of snakes in the attic.
When Alex and Bea’s parents make a surprise visit, Dan can’t understand why Bea is so appalled, or why she’s never wanted him to know them; Liv and Griff Adamson are charming, and rich. They are the richest people he has ever met. Maybe Bea’s ashamed of him, or maybe she regrets the secrets she’s been keeping.

My Thoughts

Will you hate it or love it? Because this is a book that will make this type of controversy, but let’s admit it, these are the type of books that I love, a book which makes you think after reading it, to make you fight your own feelings and want to discuss with everyone… So, which type of reader will you be, the one that will love it or hate it? Of course you’ll have to read it to decide! 😉
This is a slow-burning psychological thriller, full of intense characters and family secrets, but, who doesn’t love to discover what’s hidden in the attic? Because I can assure you that I love it! Secrets and lies that can change someone forever, either hidding or discovering them.
The plot of the book is easy, a couple, Bea and Dan, who have planned to enjoy some holidays, but then Bea’s family will become involved and things will never be the same.
The Snakes is the only title I would choose for this book, there are snakes on them, but the title goes deeper than the reptiles, who hides behind the skin and how many times they change it to adapt it to their environment… Oh yes! Be prepared for some human snakes… they are the most dangerous ones, don’t you think?
This had been a very different book but I really liked how all the plot is treated and the deepness of the characters, I would really recommend you to read it, even if you don’t like snakes, this is a book that will surprise you. Ready?
