About The Book

When iconic musical Dust is revived twenty years after the leading actress was murdered in her dressing room, a series of eerie events haunts the new cast…
The Dean Wilson Theatre is believed to be haunted by a long-dead actress, singing her last song, waiting for her final cue, looking for her killer…
Now Dust, the iconic musical, is returning after twenty years. But who will be brave enough to take on the role of ghostly goddess Esme Black, last played by Morgan Miller, who was murdered in her dressing room?
Theatre usher Chloe Dee is caught up in the spectacle. As the new actors arrive, including an unexpected face from her past, everything changes. Are the eerie sounds and sightings backstage real or just her imagination? Is someone playing games?
Not all the drama takes place onstage. Sometimes murder, magic, obsession and the biggest of betrayals are real life. When you’re in the theatre shadows, you see everything.
And Chloe has been watching…

My Thoughts

If you are looking for an emotional thriller with a haunted theatre to make you believe in the magic of the words, start reading, you’ll not be disappointed!
With Louise Beech books you can not hurry, everything has to come at their times, with their own pace and emotions involved, too soon or too late will make the story different, but not as perfect as it is now.
Twenty years ago, at the Dean Wilson Theater someone killed the main actress on her last song, and has haunted the theatre for all these years… Now, DUST will be again on the scene… But what’s the link between this mysterious death and our main character Chloe? To know everything about the story we will have to travel between the past and the present; a young Chloe playing with dangerous things, will make the present Chloe face her haunted past; expect an atmospheric trip to the entrails of the theatre world with the help of a ghost, of course!

Louise Beech, as always, has done an extraordinary job with her book, after reading I Am Dust it took me a while to process all the story and emotions that had grown inside of me, because this is a book that will stay with you for a long time, like the ghost in it, in the moments you less expect it will re-appear on your life…
Again, I A Dust is not a book to hurry or read quickly, the story has their own way to find you, wait for the waves to hit you, they will leave you breathless! Ready?
