Maybe One Day by Debbie Johnson
About The Book
What if you had the chance to find a lost love?
Jess still thinks about the man who disappeared from her life seventeen years ago, and the tragedy that tore them apart. So when she discovers a hidden box of letters in her mother’s attic, Jess realises that the truth about why he walked away has been kept from her all this time.
Jess sets out to follow the faded postmarks across the country, determined that her journey will bring her closer to him. As each clue falls into place, Jess discovers new things about herself – and the man who once broke her heart. Maybe she can find him. Maybe their love story isn’t over.
Maybe one day, they will be together again…
If you are looking for a read to disconnect for a few hours, believe me, this is your read. There’s no blood in it, but maybe you’ll drop a couple of tears after reading it, be advised.
This is a story of lies and loss, tears and bitter smiles; Jess, the main character, still thinks about her grand love, Joe, and she never recovered from the break down… Now, seventeen years later, she will have all the answers she was searching, but at what price? Will she be the same after knowing the truth? Of course, you’ll have to read the book to know all the answers! 😉
Jess will drive us to an emotional rollercoaster, between some flashbacks from the past in which she shares with us how Joe and Jess met, and the present, how Jess tries to piece together Joe’s life around the world within all these years.
I’ll have to say that this had been an amazing journey, emotional, yes, but inspiring and beautiful. A reminder to the reader what love really is, the ending is not always what you have to remember of a relation but all the experiences and love that you enjoyed during the trip.
Maybe One Day is a beautiful read, it will leave you full of thoughts and emotions after reading it; and maybe it will help you to take the step you always wanted but never had the courage to do. Ready?
