Ready to enjoy an amazing read this 2020? Take a look at this great book…

Would Like to Meet by Rachel Winters

Genre: Romance
Publisher: Trapeze Books
Rating: 4’5/5

About the Book

After seven years as an assistant, 29-year-old Evie Summers is ready to finally get the promotion she deserves. But now the TV and film agency she’s been running behind the scenes is in trouble, and Evie will lose her job unless she can convince the agency’s biggest and most arrogant client, Ezra Chester, to finish writing the script for a Hollywood romantic comedy.
The catch? Ezra is suffering from writer’s block–and he’ll only put pen to paper if singleton Evie can prove to him that you can fall in love like they do in the movies. With the future of the agency in jeopardy, Evie embarks on a mission to meet a man the way Sally met Harry or Hugh Grant met Julia Roberts.
But in the course of testing out the meet-cute scenes from classic romantic comedies IRL, not only will Evie encounter one humiliating situation after another, but she’ll have to confront the romantic past that soured her on love. In a novel as hilarious as it is heartwarming, debut author Rachel Winters proves that sometimes real life is better than the movies–and that the best kind of meet-cutes happen when you least expect them.

My Thoughts

If you are looking for a perfect book like the movies, this is your read; fresh, romantic and full of happiness it will leave a smile on every page!
I had to wait for this book for 6 long months but I finished it with just one day! So you can imagine how much I loved it! It’s a love story, yes, a rom-com if you want to be more precise, full of funny situations, interesting characters and a large list of movies that I am sure you’ll love to watch!
The story is told by Evie Summers, but on every chapters there’s a little summary in the beginning telling us where and what is she doing and the conversation she is having at the moment with her friends via mobile. And I’ll have to say that with just this, the story was different from the others books I am used to read, it gives you an insight of Evie’s life that makes the reader being more involved in the book and interested in knowing more. Because I can assure you that Evie’s life is not boring at all, wherever is she there’s trouble and a possible “perfect man” nearby.
The story per se is original, Evie is trying to find the “love of her life” like in the movies, with an “accident”. It will not be easy, the perfect man is not easy to find as you know, but it will be hilarious, really, she will find quite a few frogs, and the situations will stay with you for a while, but I can assure you that there will be a prince too!
What I didn’t like much was the friends, they are a little bit too self centered for my taste, but Evie didn’t talk much about her problems with them, so I suppose I can’t complain much either!
“Would like to meet” is a book I will recommend to any reader looking for romance and a cute story, do you know which is the only problem I found? It’s too short! 😉

About The Author

Rachel Winters is a book editor living in London. After completing a creative writing degree, she spent most of her twenties working for local papers and online magazines – including writing a weekly column about cats (though she doesn’t own one). It was very Sex and the City. She firmly believes there are few problems that can’t be solved with good friends and very large glasses of wine.
