About The Book

Kitt Hartley wakes to the news that a murder has been committed in Irendale, a village high on the wild Yorkshire moors where her boyfriend, DI Malcolm Halloran, lived with his ex-wife until she too, was murdered. The MO of the two crimes is identical, right down to the runic symbols carved into the victims’ hands.
Unable to leave it to the local police to solve, Kitt and Halloran travel to Irendale, where a literary mystery awaits. A line of Anglo-Saxon poetry found on the victim leads to a hiding place, and another cryptic clue. What is the connection to the murder of Halloran’s wife all those years ago?
It will take the combined ingenuity of Kitt and Halloran, as well as Evie Bowes, Grace Edwards and, despite their best efforts, Ruby the (possible) psychic to solve this case. The moors may be beautiful, but they’re not peaceful!

My Thoughts

If you are looking for a cozy mystery with real characters and a good plot, don’t doubt that Kitt Hartley is your best choice, always!
This will be a really personal case for DI Malcolm Halloran, Kitt’s boyfriend. When a body appears with similar bounds to an old case he was involved… she has to discover if this is a copycat or if the killer had somehow killed her from prison? As you can imagine, our genious couple will have the join forces again if they want to solve this mystery! But don’t worry, their chemistry and braveness together will make this case addictive and perfect for any mystery lover.
Since I started this series I am totally addicted to their characters, they are funny, interesting and they have a lot of chemistry between them, not only in the romantic way! Kitt and Halloran are always accompanied by Evie and Grace, they always make the story to have a special touch. There will be a little bit of history involved, of course Kitt is a librarian and this is always an important part of the story, but the mystery and the murder will be the main lead, making the reader to question all the possible suspects and decide which of them can have the best motive to kill.
As always this had been a delightful read, interesting and with a human touch it makes any reader to feeling part of the story and not only as a spectator, I really can’t wait to read their next adventure!
