About The Book

A genuinely very funny and irreverent debut novel about life, love, sex, double lives, mystery shopping and hot tubs.
Brooke’s a gorgeous young mum who lives in Essex. Her favourite things in life:
Her baby, Paige
Husband Dean
Hot tubs
OK! magazine
All that’s missing is the hot tub. Brooke’s bored at home and wants financial independence, but mostly a hot tub and Dean’s a man with traditional values and he doesn’t want Brooke to work. She secretly takes a job at a nearby country house, meeting the incorrigible Lady Townsend. This unlikely friendship, plus some jaw-dropping events, helps Brooke realise that she’s capable of so much more than she thought.
Dean is a devoted husband and father, and, knowing what Brooke wants most of all in life, he secretly takes up mystery shopping hoping to make some extra money to pay for it. And if he gets some peace and quiet whilst doing so, all the better.
The elaborate web of lies they both weave results in numerous madcap situations, but can their deceit undermine the love that they have

My Thoughts

I love reading book mysteries, but I can totally understand when your mind needs something light but you can’t stay away from secrets and lies. If this is you, then the “The Dea’th Family Antics” series is what you need, they will fix your need with all the ingredients to keep you reading all night; humor, secrets and interesting characters! It was not difficult to enter the story, be prepared for English humor (acid and dark, my favorite!); some lies and secrets… Because who doesn’t have dreams of a secret life?
I was a little surprised in the beginning that the marriage between Brooke and Dean worked, they both have a secret life because they don’t think they want the same… It’s like they eat lies for breakfast every day! But I suppose that this is how the story works, the stressful situations and funny moments that keep the reader wanting more of it.
The story is left with a little cliffhanger, but don’t worry, there’s a free ebook that you can download with all the answers you need to make the book complete.

I think this is a book that will make you see the “funny” side of hiding a part of your life to your loved ones, it’s not easy but it’s quite funny the situations you’ll be involved in as a result of your lies, believe me!
I enjoyed this read and I can’t really wait to read the next book, I have so many questions…
