If I Fall by Merilyn Davies

Genre: Psychological Thriller
Rating: 4/5
Publisher: Cornerstone

About The Book

We were told to meet at a rooftop bar.
Four friends, bound by one terrible secret.
No one knew why we were there.
Then we saw a woman, watched as she fell from the edge and plunged to her death.
The police think it’s suicide, but I know better.
Someone is sending a message.
Now they’re coming for us.

My Thoughts

Reunions doesn’t seem to have a nice ending in books, I hope in the reality they not always end with someone dead too! Because, as you can imagine, this party ends with a victim, the problem? It seems that neither of the guests knew each other or which is their connection and this will be the mystery of the case. But don’t expect to like them or pity them, they have a past, a dark one and they aren’t as innocent as they want to seem, are you ready for the truth?
This is the second book of with the characters Carla Brown (Crime Analyst) and DS Nell Jackson, you can read it as standalone, all the background and details from the characters are well explained during the story. Because since the beginning it’s clear that Carla is healing from the previous case, and this case will be personal for her and for Nell and they will have to trust each other if they want this case solved.
If you are looking for a gripping and interesting story, this is your book; with detailed police procedure and a human touch, this book will keep you turning pages without even noticing it!
