Do you think that nightmares are pure fiction or have something real in them?
When I was young, I had a frequent nightmare, a man following me on the street after one of my after school classes and then, at home, the door was open and he was waiting for me inside… I don’t know if it was simply my childhood imagination or if there was something else behind it. But I had this nightmare for years…
This story is part fiction – part supernatural, you don’t have to believe to enjoy the read, but it will give you enough facts to make you rethink that we don’t always know everything…
This is the first book of the series “DC Rose Gifford” and I have to say that I am quite intrigued with the story and characters; the case can seem easy to solve, but as the reader starts entering the story, you can see that there’s more behind what we thought in the beginning. A woman appears dead while sleeping, did she die of natural causes? It seems that she was struggling with nightmares and feeling a dark presence in her room at night… As you can imagine, our main character, DC Rose Gifford, doesn’t believe in the supernatural and when a secret department from Met asks for her help she really doesn’t know what to believe. Will she let her barriers fall down a little or will close her mind? You’ll have to read the book if you want to know more!
The plot is well created and keeps the reader’s mind guessing with multiple possibilities, just one advice, be a little open minded, sometimes there are things that you can’t explain…But for now, I’ll just say that I can’t wait to read her next case, she is brave and has strong beliefs, her cases will not always have the “traditional” investigation, but that’s what makes this book different and interesting, don’t you think?
