My Thoughts

Nothing happens until it happens…
Anna James has only left her daughter for an evening and when she returns her beloved daughter has some bruises that can’t explain. Normally at the village of Barton St Martin nothing happens, it’s quiet and safe. But now, Anna doesn’t feel safe anymore and needs to know what really happened to her daughter.
This is a very interesting read, twisted and very well plotted, it’s not difficult to forget the world while reading this book.
I have to say that I really loved how the author created this story, the characters felt real and it was easy to understand them; Anna is overprotective, but once you discover her past, you can empathize with her. What keep me questioning is why the daughter, Harriet, doesn’t explain what happened to her? Why is she quiet? Is she scared to talk or traumatized?
I have to say that this book keep me reading, told between different times, it shows the readers all the parts of the story and makes the story complete. Because believe me, this is a multilayered story that you don’t want to miss!
I love the twists and pressure that I felt all the book, but I think that what kept me reading were the characters, they all felt real and you could connect with them.
