About The Book

Elderly widow Sabine knows this will be her last Christmas in her beloved home,
Mitras Castle. Determined to make it just like the ones she remembers from her childhood, she employs Dido Jones of Heavenly Houseparties to help with the big day.
Dido is enchanted by the castle as soon as she steps through the imposing front door. And as Christmas day approaches, her feeling of connection to the old house runs deeper than she first thought. But when the snow begins to fall and Sabine’s family arrive at the house – including Dido’s teenage crush Xan – tensions rise around
the castle’s future and long-buried mysteries begin to unravel…
As past secrets come to light, can this still be a magical Christmas to remember?
My Thoughts
Who doesn’t love a little bit of Christmas love and friendship? I’ll admit that it doesn’t matter what month we are, I always love a good Christmas read.
This is the story of Sabine and Dido; while Sabine seems angry to the world and expects that this will be her last Christmas, Sabine is sweet and friendly. But I have to admit that I enjoyed the difference between their characters, makes you smile how Sabine pretends to be cold hearted but inside she is sweet, only waiting for someone to care about her.
I really don’t want to talk much about the plot, this is one of those stories that it’s worth reading it without knowing much, just enjoy the trip!
This is a slow paced story, but I would not love it if it was rushed; the characters are well developed and the story is sweet and engaging.
I really enjoyed the read; with secrets and surprises it was really impossible to stop reading. Also, the Christmas background makes me smile all the time, I will re-read it soon!

I agree that the slow pace definitely suited this book, I think it made you really think about what was happening and made the preparations more realistic for me. A great book
