About The Book

Private investigator Kitt Hartley and her twin sister Rebecca are preparing for a holiday in Scotland when cruise ship entertainer Errol Jackson appears at the door. Errol breaks the news that Bryce Griffin, a former smuggler and an old friend of Kitt’s, has been murdered: his body found washed up by a lighthouse, bearing a gunshot wound.
Kitt persuades Rebecca to cancel their trip and, together with Kitt’s assistant Grace Edwards and best friend Evie Bowes, books onto the next cruise to Norway to help with the ongoing murder investigation.
Aboard the cruise ship Kitt, Grace and Rebecca encounter burlesque dancers, casino dealers, drag queens and a talking parrot named Skittles – seemingly the only witness to Bryce’s death. But what dark secrets are lurking below deck? Can Kitt catch the killer before it’s too late?

My Thoughts

Who wouldn’t love to take a trip to Oslo in the most exclusive cruise? It only has a down side, possibly there’s a murder inside, would you take the risk? This is the new adventure of Kitt’s Hardley team, a very brave and direct PI who is surrounded by the most amazing women to help her in her cases.
This story will take Kitt’s team to a more personal case, when a curious pirate knocks on Kitt’s door asking them to solve the case of Bryce Griffin, also a Kitt’s old friend. As you can imagine, Kitt can’t say no, she wants the answers of the murder that seem that the police can’t find.
I have to say that this is a book to disconnect and make all these colourful characters in your house! Told by Kitt’s sister, Rebecca, it’s impossible to not giggle at some of the funny situations the team falls into themselves!
As you can imagine, as soon as they start investigating they meet the most curious characters ever but also they know that their lives are at risk. Is it worth to continue investigating if one of them could be attacked? You’ll have to read it to know all the answers! 😉
I love how the author, Helen Cox, does not always make the same main character in this series, it makes the series more fun to read and never know who we will discover next.
This is a book to disconnect and try to discover the truth before everything is revealed.
