About The Book

What if your dream house became your worst nightmare?
Jess and her husband need a new start. So when the chance to buy a rambling old house in the Suffolk countryside comes up, they leap at it.
But not everyone in Suffolk is welcoming. The locals know a secret about the Maple House, and soon, Jess realises they’ve made a huge mistake.
Something bad happened in that house. Something nobody wants to talk about.
Something to do with the people before…

My Thoughts

Who doesn’t dream of having their own house? The perfect house in the perfect neighborhood surrounded by a garden… But, what would happen if your perfect house becomes your worst nightmare?
When Jess and Pete buy a big house in the Suffolk countryside, they expect to start a new happy chapter in their life. But what they don’t expect is that the house has a dark past and that all the neighbours are watching them…
This is a twisted story; to make you afraid and doubt everyone; but who doesn’t like to have a little bit of suspense while reading? I love it!
The story is told between different characters’ voices, to make you feel more unsettling and more in contact with the story. The truth is that the author succeeds in both, you are scared for the family’s life but this doesn’t mean that you’ll like all of them. And I think that’s what makes this book more relatable, you feel afraid for them but ready to discover all their secrets!
If you are looking for a twisted and dark read, this should be your next read. A book to make you turn pages like crazy and make you wonder the story of the house you are living in… is it as safe as you think?
Are you ready to meet “The People Before”?
