The Simple Truth by James Buckler
About The Book
A young woman is dead.
A very wealthy client needs a favour. You’re newly qualified as a lawyer and this could be your big break, so you jump at the chance.
The case is about to be closed.
All you have to do is talk to a family, ask them to sign some papers. How difficult could it be? Their daughter was found dead at a beauty spot on the outskirts of London in what you’re told was a tragic suicide.
Only you can uncover what really happened.
But the truth is never that simple. And this case could cost you your life…
Reading so many books makes me always distrust something “easy”. So, if I were in Lewis Miller’s shoes, a young lawyer that seems to have the chance for an easy case, I would say, run!! There’s never anything easy, the case will have a dark side, for sure!
Let’s be honest, a suicide can always have a double side. Did they really do it? Could it be that someone helped them? Did they leave a written note? Could it be staged?
So, when Lewis Miller is asked to make the family’s victim sign an NDA, it really doesn’t sound right, but why would it be wrong? As things start getting weird, Lewis questions will start piling up. Because, everything in this case seems to be strange… Can his questions put his life in danger too? You’ll have to read the book to know all the answers!
I have to say that this is a book that will keep you turning pages, because since the beginning you suspect a dangerous side in the case. But without knowing all the corners of the case, you can’t stop guessing what had really happened. And, of course, when you read that a big company is interested that the family needs to sign some papers, the alarm sounds alerting danger.
This is a twisted story, with different story lines to keep you reading all night, believe me.
Because there’s never a “Simple Truth”, are you ready to discover it?
