Worst Case Scenario by Helen Fitzgerald
About The Book
Mary Shields is a moody, acerbic probation offer, dealing with some of Glasgow’s worst cases, and her job is on the line.
Imprisoned for murdering his wife, Liam Macdowall has published a series of letters to the dead woman, in a book that has made him an unlikely hero – a poster boy for Men’s Rights Activists.
Liam is released on licence into Mary’s care, but things are far from simple. Mary develops a poisonous obsession with Liam and his world, and when her son and Liam’s daughter form a relationship, Mary will stop at nothing to impose her own brand of justice … with devastating consequences.
This had been a twisted and fast read, it was like being on Mary’s skin seeing how her world is wobbling around her without any way to stop it!
Mary doesn’t have an easy job, she is a probation officer, so she has to treat with the worst case scenarios (the title of the book is perfect for the situation!), but now she is ready to leave all this horrible world and make a fresh start, she just have to work a few more days… But as you can imagine the last days are always the worst and she will have to “take care” of a man who killed his wife but thanks to the book he has written is now famous, a nice book with letters to his dead wife, can you imagine?
This is a book not everyone will enjoy, because it’s dark, really dark, again, Mary’s work is not for everyone! But she had a lot of patience all of her life, till now… Mary has the menopause; so be prepared for a lot of humor, twisted and dark! Who would not have this when you go on one of your visits to your clients and see what she has to see! Everything will take a twisted turn when her son will start a relation with the daughter of one of her clients, do you think there’s something worst? Start reading the book and you’ll see that the answer is yes!
This is a quick read, once you start reading it you’ll not be able to put it down. Compelling, twisted and dark Helen Fitzgerald has created an original story that will leave you wanting for more.
