About The Book

A tragic death. A dark family secret. A past you can’t escape. How well do you really know those closest to you?
Sarah’s world has descended into a nightmare. Her only hope of moving on is to find out the truth of what happened, and make sure the guilty are brought to justice. She is haunted by her dad’s death, consumed by her grief and the memories of a cruel day that changed her life forever… she doesn’t even know who she is anymore. But the future holds some hope for Sarah, as she tries to move forward.
Nicola’s future is not looking so hopeful. Since her husband died, the secret she’s been keeping from her family – especially her daughter, Sarah – is eating away at her. The past is catching up with her, and the consequences will be devastating.

My Thoughts

This story is told between 3 females voices; Nicola, Sarah and Fiona. Nicola’s husband passed away a few months ago, now she is living at the attached apartment of his brother-in-law and her wife, Fiona. And Sarah, Fiona’s daughter is trying to cope with the sadness in her own way, but now she is ready to socialize again.
Everything will start when Nicola will start feeling ill, she goes to the doctor for a treatment but she is only treated like a crazy menopause woman that is exaggerating her symptoms. But, everyone will be a suspect when she will pass away a few days after. Who did it? And why?
Don’t worry there will be plenty of possible suspects; the new possessive boyfriend, the jealous Fiona, the daughter or the brother-in-law… The detectives will have to discover the motive and the weapon if they want to catch the killer!
I’ll have to say that I discovered the motive at the beginning of the book, but it was really interesting reading all the investigation from the detectives perspective, the interviews and all the characters thoughts. It was like being inside the story not only as a spectator, you felt like one more in the story.
This had been a quick read, easy to read and with a twisted ending that maybe it will not be perfect for everyone, but I think it was the best for the story. It’s perfect in its own way…
The Bad Seed will show you how deep and dangerous can vengeance be, ready?
