My Thoughts
Do you know when a case gets on your head since the first page? This had been one of these books for me. Since the first moment I didn’t like the victim and he seemed to have a lot of secrets to hide… but Detective Zoe Finch is brave and is ready to break any wall to discover the truth.
I really liked Zoe’s character, but since the first moment this case seemed muddy, Zoe’s had been ascended and instead of being part of this important case they make her to do paper work… Why? Is the police simply protecting one of their own or are they involved in the killing? As you can see there are so many questions about this case, the only way to know the answers will be reading the book, of course!
Just to let you know that this will be a one sitting read, so easy to enter to the story that you feel compelled to know the truth before it’s too late. I liked how the author created the story and the characters, because Zoe has a past and her own baggage, but she is an amazing detective and it will be difficult to stop her if she finds a clue. I really hope that this will not be the last case of Zoe Finch, I would love to read more about her cases and her life.
Deadly Wishes is an interesting case, making the reader face so many real problems that after reading the book it will remain in the mind for a while. What would you do in a case where if you try to discover the truth you may end up dead? Pursue the truth or let it die? Ready?
