About The Book

As the winter snow falls on the small Irish village of Ballybray, Roisin O’Connor and her young son, Ben, are saying goodbye to their beloved neighbour Mabel Murphy. Mabel lived a bold and colourful life, but the arrival of her brooding nephew, ‘blow-in’ Aidan Murphy, just makes life more complicated for Roisin. However, in one final act of love, a message arrives from Mabel that changes everything. And as winter turns to spring and the cold snow melts, the secrets both Roisin and Aidan are hiding must be revealed at last…
My Thoughts
This is a beautiful story about grief, loss and family; because family is not about blood but having a piece of our heart.
This is a beautiful and sweet story; based in a small Irish village, we will meet Roisin and her son Ben who are grieving the loss of her neighbor, Mabel, she was family to them and not only a neighbour. Everything will change when Mabel’s nephew, Aidan, will return home to sell the house and close all of Mabel’s affairs, because he is not as cold as he pretends and maybe he will find the peace he doesn’t know he needs.
This is a book to make you smile and relax; it’s about love and romance, not the love that takes you away in one second, but the one that slowly burns you and keeps you warm forever. At the same time it is about family and the past, because sometimes the best way to grief is to remember the good and bad things of the person we lost and never stop thinking about them. This is the only way to keep them alive, inside our memories.
Rosin is not a brave woman, she has deep wounds and is not good at taking risks. On the other side, Aidan is cold and doesn’t want to remember what it is to have a family, he feels alone in this world and prefers to keep his mind occupied with work. As you can see, they are not the perfect match, but who is? Maybe if they take a step ahead and leave their fears behind… Who knows?
If you are looking for a quick read and love story, this is your book, it will keep you warm all day! 😉 Ready to discover the “Secrets In The Snow”?
