About The Book

Their new ‘smart home’ is Joe’s dream. A remote cottage where everything – from the lighting to the locks – is controlled through an app. It’s the perfect blend of old-world charm and modern convenience. What better place for them to escape after all Lauren’s trauma?
Lauren desperately wants Joe to be happy after all she’s put him through, so she doesn’t tell him how much she hates being so dependent on technology. How vulnerable it makes them.
Then ‘the incidents’ begin.
Joe thinks Lauren is the victim of her own fevered imagination. But Lauren can’t be sure. She doesn’t believe in ghosts, but she also knows the past rarely stays buried. And she is haunted by one question:
Is their past finally catching up with them?
My Thoughts
Do you like technology?I love using my phone and my smart watch, but I am quite scared of having my house completely dominated by an application; easy to hack and to record from any part of the world…
So, let’s talk a little about this book; when Joe wants to move to a remote smart house, Lauren can’t say no. It’s Joe’s dream and after all the traumatic things that have happened lately, it doesn’t seem fair to complain.
So, when they both move to this fully automated house, what they only want is to heal and be happy again, until some strange things start to happen. But, technology is not perfect yet and some glitches are allowed without anyone to worry about it… but Lauren is terrified and no one believes her that something creepy is happening in the house.
This is a book about mental health, trust and fear. I always assume that if my partner is scared of something I will always believe him. But book after book, they always prove me wrong, when someone is scared no one believes them or trust them; why? Are we all so egocentric that we don’t really listen to the people we love? Or are we part of the problem of their fear?
This is a creepy book, you’ll be scared of the night for a while after reading this book, believe me! But, it’s so addictive that it will be impossible to stop reading till the end. So, turn off your phone and let this story abduct you.
