My Thoughts

Shari Lapena is one of my favorite authors, I don’t need to know what’s the plot of the book, I already know that I will enjoy the story!
This is a story about family secrets, because believe me, the Mercer’s are specialists to hide their problems/secrets from the world with money! But now they are dead and their children will have to divide their fortune… but don’t worry, everything will be revealed, even their secret side.
This is one of those books that you’ll not like the characters, you’ll have to guess how is it possible that no one notices their dark side and could buy anything with their money, but sadly this is more real than we imagine… And then we have their adult kids, is it possible that one of them kill their parents? Could the secrets they are hiding be so dark?
This is a story to keep you guessing; anyone involved in the story has motive to kill the Mercer’s, so, the main question will be to discover who was the one to do it. Or was it a team effort?
Believe me, this is a twisted story, every time you think you know the answer, something more is revealed making all your conspirators fell down and have to start again! But this is what I loved about this book, that it makes you think about all the possibilities and again, wonder why they weren’t killed before!
