About The Book

Meet the heroine everyone’s talking about . . .
Fiercely resilient and impeccably dressed, Veronica McCreedy has lived an incredible 87 years. Most of them alone, in her huge house by the sea.
But Veronica has recently discovered a late-life love for family and friendship, adventure and wildlife.
More specifically, a love for penguins!
And so when she’s invited to co-present a wildlife documentary, far away in the southern hemisphere, she jumps at the chance.
Even though it will put her in the spotlight, just when she thought she would soon fade into the wings.
Perhaps it’s never too late to shine?

My Thoughts

If you still haven’t met Veronica McCreedy, what are you waiting for? She is my heroine, 87 years old and trying to fulfill her dreams! I really want to be like her when I grow up, full of energy and dreams!
This is the second book of Veronica McCreedy, you can read it as a standalone if you want, but Veronica is so great that it’s impossible to not want to know her full story, believe me.
This is a moving book, with layered characters and a beautiful background, penguins! As an avid reader, I know that sometimes what makes a book special is not the story per se but the characters that are part of it, in this case: Veronica, Patrick, Terry and Daisy. They are all strong and so amazing and they don’t even know it!
This is a positive book, but except for some parts being poignant and difficult, you know that life is never easy and what you are reading here is their life, their stories. And don’t forget about climate change or the penguins, these are topics we shouldn’t ever forget!
