About The Book

After the storm it’s time for a fresh start . . .
First, the clouds…
Tara Hunter is a therapist on a mission to restore Longhampton’s community spirit after catastrophic flooding. But with her boyfriend AWOL, her family fragmented, and only a cat for company, Tara’s own life is crumbling.
Then the storm…
On top of everything, Tara’s father – last seen as he walked out on her when she was ten years old – is suddenly back, with a surprising offer that could change everything.
And after the rain…
Dr David Dalloway is Longhampton Wellness Centre’s new star counsellor. He’s charming, caring and has a knack for reading people’s minds – which is the last thing Tara needs right now. Will having David and her dad around make for a bigger storm on the horizon? Or is this Tara’s chance for a fresh start?

My Thoughts

They always say that after the storm comes the calm; this is a reality, but for how long will it remain calm and not another storm will come to the horizon?
When you start a Lucy Dillon book you know that it will be special, with real and interesting characters that will make you never forget the story.
This book made me feel special; I don’t think I am the only one not trying to watch the news lately or wanting to cry after looking at how the world is going. So, reading about Tara Hunter’s story was perfect to lift up my mood and make me feel more positive. But don’t expect a perfect Tara! She is far from perfect but this makes her so special; brave, intelligent and ready to help anyone. Her life has not been easy, her father left her and her brother when she was young, but now she will have to face all types of contradictory emotions because he is back… On the other side, she will meet the new counsellor Dr David Dalloway who is not what she is expecting; making her to face more emotions than she is expecting to feel. But that’s the main core of the story; how to face the difficult situations we have in life and not be swapped by the rain!
Sweet and charming, this is a story I didn’t want to end!
