This is a story from the past that comes from hunting the present, to reveal the truth that had been hidden for a long time and that an innocent was sentenced to prison and a guilty one is still walking free…
This is the story of Rachel, told between two different timelines, it will tell us the present, how someone she knows will be released from prison, Sebastian. And the past, how Rachel travelled to Villa Medici when she was young to work there one summer; meeting the glamorous Diana and the gorgeous Sebastian… The summer ended horribly wrong and now it’s time to reveal the truth. Ready?
I have to say that Rachel wasn’t a character that I liked, I could understand her actions from the past; the innocence, the trust, the need to feel different. But the present Rachel seems obsessed with the past and Diana, not really with a clear idea of what she wants or who she is. 
While it’s impossible to stop reading the story, it’s not really about what happened that summer but Rachel’s obsession with her friend and what she wants to win, revealing the truth. This is a story of jealousy, obsession and love; twisted and addictive.

Lizzy Barber, author of Out of her Depth, is a London-based author living in Islington with her husband George. She read English at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.
She has worked in acting and film development, and has spent the last eight years working in the restaurant business with her brother Jamie, heading up their brand and marketing department. They have a small group of restaurants in Mayfair: Haché, Hush and Cabana.
