About The Book

Liv Brooks is still in shock. Newly-divorced and facing an uncertain future, she impulsively swaps her London Life for the sweeping hills of the Yorkshire Dales, determined to make a fresh start. But fresh starts are harder than they look and feeling lost and lonely she decides to adopt Harry, an old dog from the local shelter, to keep her company.
But Liv soon discovers she isn’t the only one in need of a new beginning. On their daily walks around the village, they meet Valentine, an old man who suffers from loneliness who sits by the window and Stanley, a little boy who is scared of everyone, hides behind the garden gate and Maya, a teenager who is angry at everyone and everything. But slowly things start to change…
Utterly relatable, hilarious and heart-breakingly honest, this is a novel about friendship, finding happiness and living the life unexpected. And how when everything falls apart, all you need is one good thing to turn your life around and make it worth living again.

My Thoughts

Some books are written to make you feel safe and warm; I’ll advise you that this book will make you feel happy, maybe only for a few hours, but after reading it it will be impossible to not feel good.
This is the story of Liv Brooks; she needs a new fresh start for everything so she decides to move to Yorkshire Dales. As we all know, new beginnings can be terrifying but exciting at the same time; Liv knows what she doesn’t want in her life, now it’s time to discover what she wants. She will not be alone in this path of discovery; some amazing and deep characters will have a part in this story making it more interesting and real.
I have to say that it was a pleasure reading this book; it’s easy to fall for the plot and not to love all the characters involved in the story. Also, you can expect some tears and smiles while you are reading “One Good Thing”, like on life not everything is perfect but tears are part of our it.
I think this is a book that everyone will love; sweet and emotive, impossible to forget or want to know more about all the characters inside.
Are you ready for “One Good Things”?
