If you take a look at my blog, you’ll see that a part of books I love toys, having a little one makes me love playing with toys; but at the same time being quite picky on which toys are the best. That’s why I added the Wise Owl Teaching Bank by Learning Resources to my Christmas Gift List, it’s a toy but at the same time it will teach your little ones a lot of different skills.
But first of all, let’s talk a little about Learning Resources, I think it’s always interesting to know a little about the brand behind the toys; it shows you their trajectory and their experience on toys. Learning Resources® is a leading global manufacturer of innovative, hands-on educational products trusted by teachers and parents and loved by children. The Company’s 1100+ high-quality products are sold in more than 80 countries, serving children and their families, preschool, kindergarten, primary, and middle-school markets.
I don’t really believe in buying toys only for playing, I prefer that they have some learning skills included. That’s why today I am writing about the Wise Owl Teaching Owl! It’s recommend it for children of 3 years old. I would not give it to any younger ones, but I am sure older ones will love it!
This is the best way to teach your little ones really interesting things:
- Teach the value of the coins and their importance
- Learning to count
- Management skills
- How to earn money
I’ll say that my son loved since the first money the Owl, it’s sturdy and perfect for his little hands.
There are three transparent drawers: one to spend, one to save and one to share. In the beginning I wasn’t sure if the drawers would resist my little one manners and that would get loose, but they have a little stop in the end and they stick on their place perfectly! And you can throw the money and let the owl decide where to go or on the front choosing exactly where you want to put the money.
I really like the Wise Owl, my son loves maths and helping us with the daily tasks, this is the best way to give him a little reward every time he does something good!
In Catalonia we have a tradition that during Christmas the little one recites a little Christmas poem or song and the adults give them some coins. So I am teaching him a short poem and he is really excited to learn it and win some coins!
I think this is the best present I could give to my little one, he enjoys throwing the coins and counting them. This is not a toy for a few days or months, this toy will grow with my son and he will learn a lot of skills with it. I am really happy with it!
You can buy this toy at Brightsminds for £15.99 and I think it will be the best money spend!
