About The Book
Rosie Thorne is feeling stuck—on her college application essays, in her small town, and on that mysterious General Sond cosplayer she met at ExcelsiCon. Most of all, she’s stuck in her grief over her mother’s death. Her only solace was her late mother’s library of rare Starfield novels, but even that disappeared when they sold it to pay off hospital bills.
On the other hand, Vance Reigns has been Hollywood royalty for as long as he can remember—with all the privilege and scrutiny that entails. When a tabloid scandal catches up to him, he’s forced to hide out somewhere the paparazzi would never expect to find him: Small Town USA. At least there’s a library in the house. Too bad he doesn’t read.
When Rosie and Vance’s paths collide and a rare book is accidentally destroyed, Rosie finds herself working to repay the debt. And while most Starfield superfans would jump at the chance to work in close proximity to the Vance Reigns, Rosie has discovered something about Vance: he’s a jerk, and she can’t stand him. The feeling is mutual.
But as Vance and Rosie begrudgingly get to know each other, their careful masks come off—and they may just find that there’s more risk in shutting each other out than in opening their heart
My Thoughts
Do you love the Beauty and the Beast book? So, be prepared to fall in love with this book!
First of all I should advise you that this book is part of a series, this is the third book of the series Once Upon a Con, you will not feel lost with the main characters connection but I felt a little bit lost with the background of the story, so if you are planning to read it I recommend you to start from the beginning, also the book is really good, I am sure you’ll love it.
This is the story of Rosie Thomas and Vance Reigns and how an old library makes them fell in love… Don’t expect them to fall in love from the first moment and being so different will make that communication will not be easy, but as you know love breaks walls, do you think it will be the same for them?
I’ll admit that I liked both characters, each one has their own personal problems, Rosie is trying to get over the dead of her mother and decide what to do after high school. While Vance doesn’t really know what to expect from his future, he doesn’t feel that the people around him respect him or value him. I liked the secondary characters of the story, Vance and Rosie’s friends, I hope we will see more of them soon in the series or have a book for them.
This is a story to read in just one sit, loving the plot and the characters I am sure you’ll fall in love with this classic story again. Ready?
About The Author
Ashley Poston is the author of Geekerella (Quirk Books, 2017) and Heart of Iron (HarperCollins, 2018). Her fangirl heart has taken her everywhere from the houses of Hollywood screenwriters to the stages of music festivals to geeked-out conventions (in cosplay, of course). When she is not inventing new recipes with peanut butter, having passionate dance-offs with her cat, or geeking out all over the internet, she writes books. She lives in small-town South Carolina, where you can see the stars impossibly well
