About The Book

All you’ve done is taken in a parcel for a neighbour. You have no idea what you’ve let into your home.
Emma’s the one that got away.
The only survivor of a killer known in the tabloids as ‘the barber’ – because of the trophies he takes from his victims.
Or she thinks she was.
The police aren’t convinced. Nor is her husband. She never even saw her tormentor properly, but now she recognises him in every man.
Questioning her sanity, she gives up her job as a doctor in the local hospital and retreats from the world. It is better to stay at home. Quiet. Anonymous. Safe. He won’t find her here.
And all she did was take a parcel for a neighbour.
She has no idea what she’s let into her home.
My Thoughts
This book attracted me from the first moment; the cover was original and intriguing and the plot sounded full of twists and surprises, and looked like a must read! And let’s be honest, I was not disappointed at all, in the end there’s twist after twist, so be prepared to have your mouth open all the way! Emma seems to have a big imagination, since she was young she invented characters to keep her fear away, but now she is an adult, she wouldn’t need to use this mechanism and face the problems she is having, am I right? The story is told in first person by Emma, everything will begin in a hotel after a conference meeting she will be presenting in, she will be raped and her hair cut by the “Hairdresser”, but no one will believe her. She had drugs in her blood, but every victim of the Hairdresser has been killed and all of them were sex workers, so she doesn’t fit in the profile and no one really believes her. As you can imagine, this makes her fear the world and to close herself in her house. I don’t want to think how she is feeling after being dismissed by everyone around her: husband, friends, police… Emma will have to suffer the unthinkable before everything will get better, but it will get better. As you read the story, you’ll feel your body electrified by tension and fear. Not knowing if you can believe Emma, will make the story more powerful, like jumping into a dark hole; is she imagining things or someone is stalking her? Be prepared to be scared of your own shadow and not to trust anyone, this is a psychological thriller that you’ll never forget. Ready to open “The Package”?
