About The Book

Struggling with grief after the death of her mother, successful author Kaylee Sloan needs a distraction, to come to terms with life and meet her looming deadline.
With Christmas approaching, Kaylee rents a cabin in Virgin River. She knows the isolation will help her writing and as she drives north through the mountains she immediately feels inspired. Until she arrives at a building that has just gone up in flames. Devastated, she heads to Jack’s Bar to plan her next steps. The local bar is the heart of the town and once she crosses the threshold, she’s surprised to be embraced by people who are more than willing to help a stranger in need.
Welcomed by those in Virgin River, Kaylee starts to see her life in a new light. And as she becomes more involved in the town and the people in it, especially local artist and dog trainer Landry Moore, Kaylee realises she may have found her peace. As Christmas approaches, Kaylee’s dread turns to wonder. Because there’s no better place to mend a broken heart than Virgin River.

My Thoughts

I’ll have to admit that I didn’t know that these was a book series the first time I saw Virgin River on Netflix, I was intrigued with the chemistry between the characters and amazed with the beautiful scenery!
Of course, once it finished it spiked my curiosity and I discovered that this was a series book, with 19 books (Return to Virgin River is the last published) and I couldn’t resist to be part of this community, special and with a big heart.
What I like of this book series is that even if there’s romance in it (an a lot of chemistry) all the characters have a background, their own problems and are searching for some space and time to heal and take the steps they need to find their happiness.
This is the story of Kaylee Sloan, she needs to focus on her writing and healing from her wounds, she will have what she didn’t know was missing in this little community. Friendship and people to listen, because Virgin River is not only a place but the healing place we all need sometime in the moments of need.
I really loved this book, you could feel transported there and being part of the community; the secondary characters from other books make it more realistic and delighted to see how they are doing in their lives.
If you are looking for a Christmas present, ask for all the series, it will keep you entertained for a long time with a smile on your face and a warm heart, believe me!

About The Author

Robyn Carr was a young mother of two in the mid-1970s when she started writing fiction, an Air Force wife, educated as a nurse, whose husband’s frequent assignment changes made it difficult for her to work in her profession. Originally from Minnesota, they lived in all four corners of Texas, Alabama, Florida, California, Utah, Arizona and Nevada. Little did the aspiring novelist know then, as she wrote with babies on her lap, that she would become one of the world’s most popular authors of romance and women’s fiction, that 11 of her novels would earn the #1 berth on the New York Times bestselling books list.
