About The Book

Twenty floors above the shimmering lights of the Hamburg docks, Public Prosecutor Chastity Riley is celebrating a birthday with friends in a hotel bar when twelve heavily armed men pull out guns, and take everyone hostage. Among the hostages is Konrad Hoogsmart, the hotel owner, who is being targeted by a young man whose life – and family – have been destroyed by Hoogsmart’s actions. With the police looking on from outside – their colleagues’ lives at stake – and Chastity on the inside, increasingly ill from an unexpected case of sepsis, the stage is set for a dramatic confrontation … and a devastating outcome for the team … all live streamed in a terrifying bid for revenge.Crackling with energy and populated by a cast of unforgettable characters, Hotel Cartagena is a searing, stunning thriller that will leave you breathless.

My Thoughts

A celebration not always means happiness and good vibes between the attendants of the party, sometimes the raw emotions that you kept hidden explode in the worst moments…
This is Hotel Cartagena, where our main character Chastity Riley is celebrating a birthday with her friends (and lovers), the tension between the guests is tangible from the beginning, so when some armed men take everyone hostage you can only expect the worst.
This is the 4th book of the series Chas Riley, you can read it as standalone, but you’ll miss the background of some of the characters and believe me, they are worth reading.
It was not difficult to enter into this story, with multiple characters involved in the story and the emotions mixed with the action, it was easy to fall for Hotel Cartagena and keep turning pages. Because vengeance is the most raw emotion of all and there’s always someone who will suffer, the main question will be, do they deserve it? Or are they innocent from all the “charges”?
And let’s be honest, a good story not only has a good plot but good characters to make the story flow. In this case, Chas will not be the only one leading the story and she will not always be in her best state of mind, as she will be wounded and fighting to be conscious. But this will make the story more gripping and unstoppable.
Are you ready for “Hotel Cartagena”?
