The Secret War by Louise Burfitt-Dons
About The Book
A confident China plans to alter the world order Border expansion for her burgeoning population is an essential element.
Bioweapons will be used as a first tester in the US An underground laboratory. A claustrophobic liner. A trail of dead mistresses.
Karen Andersen, private investigator, stumbles across intelligence in a Liverpool University that an ultra-right faction of the CCP plan to release the hyper contagious virus on an unsuspecting New York City.
Heading out of Southampton on a luxury cruise she has just seven days to disrupt the strategy. In the turmoil on board, Karen struggles to unravel the complexities.
Virus have always been something fascinating to me, how something so small can be so dangerous, even lethal? And why humans love so much to play with them to create even dangerous mutations that can kill all life in Earth within a few days?
Let’s say that this is a fiction book, and hopefully what happens in it will never happen in reality…
There’s been a lot of saying about how Covid-19 started, a mutation directly from animals or was it created in a lab? This book works on the premise that it was human created by a scientist linked to the Chinese Communist Party. As you can imagine, the private investigator, Karen Andersen, will have to investigate if the threat to release a super infectious virus is real.
I have to say that I loved this book, it was interesting reading it while we are living this pandemic and thinking that this could be part real not only fiction, so I have to thank the author for the addictive read.
I really don’t want to talk much about the plot, it’s better if you simply immerse yourself to the story, full of action and twists that will make you believe you are inside the story.
This is the third book of the Karen Andersen Series, you can read it as standalone, but the story is so good that I think it’s worth to start from the beginning, believe me!
