About The Book

Paige might bake wedding cakes for a living but that doesn’t mean she’s dreaming about her own perfect day. Far from it.
Trusting people is hard after she was badly let down by her family and boyfriend just when she needed them most. And to make things worse, her ex has just walked into her bakery with his new fiancée…
Needing a little no-strings-attached fun, Paige goes to a party where her friend knows just the guy – the guy in the black top.
There’s just one problem. There are two men wearing black tops.
Noah was meant to be her perfect distraction…instead, he wants more than just a bit of fun. But could the wrong guy turn out to be the right choice?

My Thoughts

There’s a song that I love by Mallory Knox called “Try” that says;

Where there is desire
There is gonna be a flame
Where there is a flame
Someone’s bound to get burned
But just because it burns
Doesn’t mean you’re gonna die
You’ve gotta get up and try, and try, and try
Gotta get up and try, and try, and try
You gotta get up and try, and try, and try

Try by Mallory Knox

This is the situation of Paige right now, she has had some bad experiences with love (even now that her ex wants her to create his wedding cake…). But this doesn’t mean that she should close the door to love, maybe “the guy in the black shirt”, as her friend Mika has recommended her, is what she needs… There’s only one problem, there are two guys with a black shirt at the party… will Paige choose the right one for her? You’ll have to read the book to know it! 😉
Love can be seen as something light or something dark and scary; because it always depends on the previous experiences you’ve had. This book has a light and funny story to show us that even if we have bad experiences you can always have a happy ending if you let yourself to “Try” again.
I think this is the perfect book to read this holidays, to make you disconnect and leave you with a smile on your face. The characters are funny and human, the situations also funny but with a reality touch, to make you feel connected to the story and believe in love again.
Are you ready for the “Mix-Up” of the summer?
